Born and raised in northwest Arkansas, owner Chris Von Tersch grew up hunting and fishing --- a true love for the outdoors. After 9/11, Chris joined the Marine Corps; skipping his high school graduation ceremony to expedite his training. Chris was quickly promoted to Corporal, competing on boards in less than a year and a half and even winning a Marine of the Quarter board in his battalion. He became a Sergeant in under three years and deployed to Iraq in 2006-2007. 

 

After being honorably discharged, Chris began taking community college courses before transferring to the University of Arkansas where he earned a degree in Transportation and Logistics with a minor in Finance, but most importantly, it was there he met the love of his life: Kim. Chris later relocated to Ohio where Kim was working on her doctorate at Ohio State University. After working in sales for a number of years prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, Chris decided to become an entrepreneur and he and his now wife, Kim (a Veterinarian), started Big Red's Yard Services in 2020.

In his free time, Chris enjoys hunting, fishing and video games, and, of course, spending time with Kim and their two wonderful children.
